Joe Calzaghe's IBF light heavyweight title fight against Jamaican Glencoffe Johnson in Manchester next Saturday has been called off.
The 32-year-old suffered a back injury in training.
The Manchester bill will still go ahead with home favourite Ricky Hatton now the star attraction. The WBU light welterweight champion will fight
Carlos Wilfredo Vilches after talks broke down with Hatton's preferred opponent, Sharmba Mitchell.
Calzaghe was arrested but released without charge after
an alleged incident at his home in Cwmbran last week. However, promoter Warren was keen to stress that Calzaghe's personal problems did not influence
the decision of his withdrawal. Warren said: "Despite undergoing intensive physiotherapy treatment he is still in great pain. "There was no way he
could get in the ring with Johnson, who is a great champion and is expected to give Joe the toughest test of his career. "I am currently negotiating
with Johnson's promoter Dan Goossen to reschedule the fight and am looking for a July date." Warren is currently looking to add another title fight to
the Manchester bill.
