Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday re-signed veteran defensive end
Tony Brackens to a one year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
"It's a business,"
said Brackens. "It wasn't an emotional deal. If I couldn't go back home to Texas, I wanted to come back here."
Brackens, who has started in 75 of 107 career games, has 55 sacks in eight NFL seasons all with Jacksonville.
"We were interested in bringing Tony back,"
Jaguars salary cap manager and lead negotiator Paul Vance said. "It took time to get a deal
that made sense for him and for us."
The Texas product has been slowed down by knee injuries over the past few seasons and has not played a full year since 2000. Last season, the 6-4,
265-pounder started 15 games and had six sacks.
