Olympic silver medalist Rocky Juarez will take a step up in class when he meets unbeaten Zahir Raheem on July 17 in a featherweight elimination
The fight is part of a card that also includes Houston lightweight Juan Diaz going after his first professional world title against WBA lightweight
champion Lakva Sim in a scheduled 12-round bout. The card will be televised on HBO.
Juarez is unbeaten in 20 fights since turning pro after winning a silver medal in Sydney, while Raheem is 25-0 and has knocked out five of his last
six opponents. The fight is an elimination bout for the IBF No. 1 ranking.
Diaz (24-0, 12 knockouts) has stopped five of his last seven opponents, including a win in the second round April 17 against Martin O'Malley in a
nationally televised fight. Sim (19-3-1, 16 knockouts) won the WBA 135-pound title April 10 by stopping Miguel Callist in the fifth round.
