(BBC Sports) WBU light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton will next fight Argentine Carlos Wilfredo Vilches on 12 June.
Hatton, who is topping the bill with Joe Calzaghe at Manchester's MEN Arena, had hoped to take on IBF champ Sharmba Mitchell before talks broke down.
And it was then announced that he would face Brazilian Antonio Mesquita.
But he will now make his 13th defence of the lightly-regarded WBU belt against Vilches, who has won 41 of his 47 pro bouts with 25 knockouts.
"I am waiting for some more tapes on Vilches but from what I have seen so far he looks like a real tough nut as most of them are from South America,"
"The training is going fantastic at the moment and the sparring will start this week.
"I'm just looking forward to getting in the ring again and keeping busy hopefully I can get in another two fights before the end of the year."
Hatton and Calzaghe's double-header had to be moved back a week from 5 June in order to give the Hatton camp time to find an opponent.
