Sources have indicated that Keven Garnett will win the MVP this year. The team is expected to have a major announcement on Monday regarding Garnett. Officials close to the team say its KG winning the MVP. This would be his first MVP award. The 7 time all-star in his 9th season showed the entire league that he deserved a shot at the MVP, and it looks like everybody watched. Garnett had an unbelieveable year and helped the Wolves reach the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time.

Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota's Kevin Garnett has won his first Most Valuable Player award, sources told The Associated Press on Sunday.

The Timberwolves said there would be a major announcement regarding Garnett on Monday afternoon at Target Center. Two team officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Garnett would receive the NBA's MVP award.

Players and coaches were unavailable for comment when word of Garnett's honor came, but it was not a surprise considering the season he had. Writers and broadcasters from each NBA market vote on the award, and ballots are due before the playoffs begin.

"That's just a formality," coach Flip Saunders said earlier this week. "I don't think there's much drama. It's pretty much signed, sealed and delivered. It's probably on a UPS truck coming up here right now."

Comments:
He deserves it. Hands down. There is no other player in the league that carries his team like KG does. No Kobe? Lakers still win. No Duncan? San Antonio still wins. No KG? T-Wolves flounder and lose.

Hats off to KG. He led the league in triple-doubles and double-doubles, as well as rebounds at 13.9 a game.

duncan is right there every year....u cant say san antonio would be the same team without duncan. This was just KG's year to put up the big stats but duncan was right there behind him.

KG is a natural born leader. For players like Sprewell and Sam Cassel to say that KG is the best player they have ever played with is amazing. And also for KG to control a player like Sprewell is something else.

Unfortunately, the NBA always seems to give this award out only to a player on the team with the best record in either the West or the East, even though they may not deserve it.

But, KG did deserve his due this year.
