Defending champion Andre Agassi crashed out of the Nasdaq-100 Open at the hands of Agustin Calleri. The American, going for his fourth successive Miami title was never in command as he slumped to a 6-2 7-6 defeat after a hard-fought tie-break.

Agassi has won the title in Miami six times including the last three years running, and Calleri's win snapped a 19-match winning streak the American had compiled at the tournament.Aggasi's last defeat at the Crandon Park Tennis Center was in the 2000 semifinals, when he was beaten by Gustavo Kuerten. On Tuesday, Agassi lost the first set amid a blitz of winners and found himself in even deeper trouble when he twice went a break down in the second set.He retrieved both breaks and had setpoints at 5-4 on the Calleri serve before the Argentine sealed the match in the tiebreaker.Argentine Calleri, who ended the 33-year-old American's 19-match winning streak, will face Romania's Andrei Pavel in the quarter-finals.
