The Flyers started off the season flying. And they continue to soar. Now they are going to have to play some outstanding defense, since their backup net minder is heading to the injured list. Minor league goalies Antero Niittymaki and Neil Little will share the goaltending duties while Esche is out and Hackett recovers from his bout with vertigo.

News Source ESPN.com
"We play two games and then we've got the All-Star break, so that'll help. And by that time, Hackett will be ready," Clarke said.

The good news for Philly is that they are in a solid playoff spot. The bad news is that the Devils are on their heels to take their top spot in the division away from them.

Playing Washington and Atlanta before the All-Star break is not going to be easy. If they can get 2 points, there will be no lasting harm done by the injury.

Esche will be out 3 weeks. But they are hoping Hackett will be ready to go after the all-star break.

So far so good for the Flyers. They beat the Cpas 5-1 tonight. Scoring 5 goals is one way to help out a young netminder.

Yes that would be Antero Nittymaki. The Flyers have high hopes for this kid just not this soon. Jeff Hackett is going to play Friday night for the Flyers AHL affiliate, The Phantoms, and if all goes well he will be back in net for the Flyers on Tuesday, after the all-star break.

I still think GM Bobby Clarke will make a fairly large deal for a veteran goaltender before the trade deadline.

Hasek? Cujo? Manny Fernandez?

I know Detroit wants to dump one of them, and since Cujo and Legace are not doing bad, Hasek might be the one to go.

And in Minnesota, there are rumblings that Manny will bet on the block. Roloson has been getting a majority of the starts lately. Nothing solid yet.

What other goalies might be changing teams?
