One of the most senior figures in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was on Friday suspended from the organisation pending the results of
inquiries into corruption allegations.Kim Un-yong, an IOC vice-president, has been accused of accepting bribes and embezzling funds from martial arts
federations in South Korea.
The 72-year-old resigned from the South Korean parliament and as head of the World Taekwon-do Federation on January 9 after the scandal broke and is
also the subject of an IOC ethics commission investigation.Kim has been accused of accepting payments from Korean Olympic officials and embezzling
funds from taekwon-do organisations. A police raid on his home last month found foreign currency totalling more than $1million.
