Newz Forum: BASEBALL: Blue Jays reward Halladay with new deal

TORONTO (AP) -- AL Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays agreed Thursday to a four-year, $42 million contract.He would have been eligible for free agency after the 2005 season.

Halladay, 22-7 with a 3.25 ERA last season, gets $6 million this year, $10.5 million in 2005, $12.7 million in 2006 and $12.8 million in 2007.He would have been eligible for free agency after the 2005 season.

it is refreshing to hear about a guy who is willing to stay with a team because he wants to help build a winner instead of jumping ship and going for bigger bucks somewhere else. in my book roy is a class act
