The Cardinals could be ready to give Albert Pujols a new contract offer to keep him in St Louis for another eight years.Pujols is the National League
batting champion and runner-up to San Francisco Giants left fielder Barry Bonds for a second consecutive season in balloting for NL MVP.
Sources said Tuesday that the Cardinals are restructuring a third bid, believed to be for as many as eight years with an average annual value
exceeding $12 million. Such a deal would probably exceed the franchise record eight-year, $90 million extension signed by third baseman Scott Rolen in
September 2002.
Great idea for the Cards to go ahead and sign him to a longer term contract, he was a big lift for them last season, and he certainly will do another
big number this season.
All you fantasy players, this guy is a must to pick up.
