Former Chicago Bears coach Dick Jauron looks set to make a quick return to the NFL as the defensive co-ordinator of the Detroit Lions.Jauron has
reportedly agreed to a three-year contract with the Lions, worth about one million dollars a year.
He will replace Kurt Schottenheimer after his defence ranked 24th statistically last season.In joining up with Detroit, Jauron would be returning to
the place where he spent the first five years of his NFL playing career from 1973-77. A free safety, Jauron was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1974.The
St Louis Rams and New York Giants had expressed an interest in Jauron, who also interviewed for the head coaching job with the Buffalo Bills.
