This just shows that no matter what you believe even if it was blanks they can still be deadly...

Ah, yes, the Dog Track one. As I've stated in my own topic I've been doing NLP for about 10 years.

The Dog Track one is simple. The trick is in the surroundings, eye contact, body movement, and belief basically.

I remember I used this once when I was back in HS. Made my F paper become a B.

....good days....goes off to reminis

As you seem to know how this works, was I in anyway right in this statement???

The dog track one is a prime example of confusion, the woman "see's" it's the "right" ticket and therefore is going to take her own judgement over a possibly faulty machine.

Only reason I ask is because I was trying to explain withoutreally knowing for sure...

Thank you for posting these clips. They were very entertaining, but also frightening - because it shows how someone could mess with your mind when he's really evil.

Chris you're almost there. That's about 98% of it. The other part has to do with body language.

Akareyon, yes there are evil people out there that wish to exploit their abilities in nasty ways. I used to be one of those very people.

You're making me curious. Would you like to tell us a bit more? I think I have wandered through these realms as well. I once had a job as "call agent" - I had to call people from a list and make them give me their bank data. It was perfectly legal, of course, but I had a "mentor" who taught me a few basics about rethorics, and neuro-linguistic programming. For example, one of the most important thing was to act like it was the most usual thing in the world to ask for the bank account. In an ideal conversation, I'd just "program" these people to say "yes" again and again and again, bribe the neanderthal in their heads and close the trap. I was shocked at times, and left after one month. I worked at a gas station afterwards and was astonished how easy it really is to make costumers buy chocolate snacks :-) Since then, I always pay close attention to TV and paper ads and sales persons to understand how they work and try to program the subconscious.

It shows how vunerable we are. I've never heard about Derren before, but I have read about some of the experiments (person swap, for example) and I wasn't surprised at all to see his tricks. Really nice to see them in action, though.

That's it, he doesn't have abilities nor does he claim it!

If your able to get people to do things they would not otherwise do with suggestion or hypnosis or mind control what ever you want to call it then you do have abilities that most people do not.

This guy either has those abilities or its all a setup.....The videos I watched all looked like a setup.

OK he has these abililties that anyone in the world can use if they learn how, but he isn't supernatural in any way.
On a day to day basis people use these techniques everyday on a lower and more subconcious level. ie. you can tell if someone is angry at you by reading body language, same goes if someones likes or is happy with you.

So I do still kind of stick by that statement...

I agree we all have those abilities....he is just able to exploit them better than most people. I dont think its supernatural either but it is connected to quantum physics and quantum entanglement. Which basically states all consciousness is connected in some form at the quantum level.

Not to long ago it would have been seen a witchcraft or something supernatural.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Arthur C. Clarke

I think if you substitute the word technology with knowledge it would also seem like magic or supernatural

Chris the video you posted as far as I can tell is nothing.

You're making me curious. Would you like to tell us a bit more?

When I said I used my "abilities" for malicious purposes or whatever I was referring to making people see what is not there to some degree for my own benefit. I NLPed my HS teacher for instance that my F paper would be a B. I also have used it with a run in I had with the law awhile back.

Now most my stuff is "sending" people illusions with there permission. In my video preview comeing out I have a young skeptic believe in my "abilities" after spending a minute or two with me. Where he feels an ethereal hand reach out and touch him.

his new show was fantastic, where he tricks the whole audience, and makes a girl give the right word from random newspapers by giving random words through out the whole show. The video clip at the end where he winks at the secret camera while saying a word to influence the audience, hes just great. He banned from every casino in the UK for counting cards, don't know if the clips been posted but he goes playing blackjack and comes out £3,000 up in no time. In his recent show where he walks on glass/lies on glass while someone is standing on his head is a mystery to me, i dont think it has anything to do with lack of oxygen to the head?

Before calling Darren Brown a phoney you should really listen to everything he says, all he does in most of his tricks is say what he wants his/her to say by saying clues or the word in a sly way so they don't notice. The messiah special he did was fantastic love the one where he goes to the psychic teacher place and tricks them, when he says to the woman to draw 3 random images and he will know what shes draws, he says "don't go overboard" and "what ever sails through ur mind" so obviously she draws a boat on water.

The invisible man one was the best of his, i would not like to be the guy on the recieving end of the freaky doll.

I can vouch for Darren, I've been practicing NLP for about 10 years. I even have a documentary comeing out. I can do alot of the same stuff as him.

Seems to be a few fans kicking about here, has anyone see his show were he travels to america and fakes it as a psychic, and gets accepted as the real deal. Even though he freely admits he has no special powers at all.

Was that his "Messiah" show?
I saw that but a while ago and can't remember too much, but I saw the psychic thing on youtube.

I have seen one 30 min program were he got a group of people and wrote a few pages for each, (in the same fashion as a cold reading) what they all read was so close to their lives.
Now he had them all beleive that each little booklet they read was different and personal to them, once they finished reading and said things like "I can't beleive he was so spot on" he then told them all to swap booklets with someone else and read theirs, they all read and realised they were all EXACTLY the same, ha I couldn't stop laughing, the man is a genius...

"I'm sorry, but that is completely unimpressive to me...
It is all most likely staged, and doctored up to look good for TV..."

There are no actors or stooges used on Derren Brown's shows -its all 100% genuine psychological illusion.
