Assassination Attempt on the US President???

Ive never heard of these events, can anyone else tell me if they were aware of this suspicous events surrounding BUSH on the morning of sept11?

At about the same time Bush was getting ready for his jog, a van carrying several Middle Eastern men pulled up to the Colony’s guard station. The men said they were a television news crew with a scheduled “poolside” interview with the president. They asked for a certain Secret Service agent by name. The message was relayed to a Secret Service agent inside the resort, who hadn’t heard of the agent mentioned or of plans for an interview. He told the men to contact the president’s public relations office in Washington, DC, and had the van turned away.

Nearly three hours after the incident at the Colony, another Longboat Key resident reported a run-in with possibly the same men. At about 8:50 (when reports of the first World Trade Center crash were first broadcast), while standing on the Sarasota bay front waiting for the presidential motorcade to pass by, this man saw two Middle Eastern men in a dilapidated van “screaming out the windows ‘Down with Bush’ and raising their fists in the air.” The FBI questioned the man, but it’s not known if this was the same van that had visited the Colony. Huh, that's interesting. In any case, if there was an attempt, it was either covered up very well or the "assassins" were incompetent. Thank God it didn't happen, too.

Very strange you didnt hear anything abuot this, especially coming from the whitehouse.

Even more so, why did the President continue to speak at the school, when clearly he was putting the childeren at risk?

That's my guess. I had never heard that information before, but upon reading it, it seems they were stupid. They thought they'd be able to fake their way to get an 'interview' and then when they couldn't, they were reduced to shouting at him from a beat up van.

I FULLY agree with you. I have NEVER understood why the president, upon understanding that the USA was under attack, stayed with the children. I have heard the White House say that he didn't want to look upset or panic the children, but when a war breaks out the Commander In Chief is always a priority target and he should have gotten out of there immediately. The school should have been evacuated as well, just in case.

I think he was in a state of panic and froze.

That's another reason why I don't believe that Bush pulled off 9/11. If he was pulling it off he would have been in a much more 'presidential' place than reading about billy goats to school children and he wouldn't have froze like he did.

But I fully agree with you Agit8dChop - he should have immediately left the school and the school should have been evacuated in case a plane was headed there to crash into it (or a car bomb, or whatever).

FF, What is the purpose of the secret service? Above all else, protect the life of the President. They were well aware of this terrorist act after the second plane struck the towers, and Bush was on a very publicized outing to the school. How were they certain that the school was not going to be a target?

It is one thing to ponder why Bush remained in the seat, but I believe the bigger question is, why did he even have a choice? I've always been confused to why the secret service did not come in and remove him from the class. It was no secret to where he was going to be on that morning.

Excellent, glad you brought that up. WHY didn't either the Secret Service, or the President himself, get up and get the heck out of that building? The Secret Service would NOT have been able to stop a plane from crashing into it. Heck .. if it had been me sitting there as president, I would have taken the matter into my own hands, Secret Service or not, and politely made a quick and early exit.

He froze. I understand that because I also froze here at home when I watched it on TV. I could not believe it. It was sureal and didn't feel real for months afterwards.

However, he is trained not to freeze. So are the secret service. They should have acted immediately. It's better that the children wonder why the president had to leave so quickly .. rather than put them at risk of a firey death by an airplane crashing into the building. (or a car bomb, or whatever)

I wouldn't call that an "assasination attempt". More like a few idiots that got turned away....even with harsh intentions. They probably had the means, definately had the intent, but they lacked the oppurtunity.

Why would we? This kind of stuff probably happens all the time. Email threats, idiots that walk up and demand to see GW, etc...

I think news of the WTC attack should have been enough for the president leave the school ASAP, like right away....SS guys dragging him away or something.

But I don't think a few guys rolling up in a van and shouting anti-bush jargon, etc.. should be reason enough to prevent the president from carrying out his plan of the day. The office of the president should not give in to half-wit assassination 'attempts' (for lack of a better term)....maybe if they actually done something and made an attempt, but that's not the case here.

Well, if I suspected an assassination attempt, the last thing I would want to do is move around. It's easier for a sniper to hit the president if he hastily moves into a car, and then to a helicopter or jet. I would, honestly, want to keep Bush out of Washington DC until after the skies are cleared and the ground secured. Only then would I move him as quickly and directly as possible to a secure location.

That is an interesting read, however, the thing that I find strange is that two of the highjackers were staying within two miles of where Bush was scheduled to stay two days prior to the attack. The article doesn’t speculate whether they are casing the area for an assassination attempt or not, so I started looking into the movements of Mohammed Atta to see if they stayed for a while at the Holiday Inn but they didn’t. In fact they also went to Hollywood Florida later that same day.

So it doesn’t sound like they were planning anything, and may have been just a coincidence. While I was looking into this, I found something else very strange.

September 5, 2001: FBI reports and eyewitnesses place Atta and other hijackers onboard a SunCruz Casinos gambling boat.

Well the SunCruz Casinos was one of the many scandals that Jack Abromos is under investigation for. He bought the casino in 2000 and then declared bankruptcy in June 2001.

This seems like an unlikely place for terrorist to visit just before an attack. This is another thing I have not heard about.

The whitehouse has a record of not revealing things to the public. Why be surprised. I am thankful that the attempt didn't succeed, regardless of whether I agree with all of his decisions, but I am not surprised that this was swept under the rug.

1. Sun Cruz was a mob hit. Read into it a bit more, pretty good stuff. Abramoff runs with a different crowd.

2. I have always thought that this was to be an assasination and then the planes would hit and throw the nation further into chaos on 9/11. The news crew attempt is much like the death of Ahmed Shah Massoud a few days prior to 9/11. This was the first strike from OBL and AQ.

How can the Prez be in D.C. AND Florida at the same time??? He was told of the attack after the second plane hit the WTC around 9:15am AND he had been at the school for a while. For he and his whole entourage to be in Florida and driven to this school there's no way he'd have time for a morning jog. Gets up at 6am in D.C. and he and his entourage have to be at this school in Florida by, let's say 8am??? No way, no jog!!!

BTW.....that always drove me nuts, his reaction to this news. The guy who bent down to tell the Prez the news said something like, "We are under attack". Jesus H Christ if someone told me my country was under attack that I was the president of, I'd be out of my seat looking for answers and I wouldn't give a shiit how many kids were around. I wouldn't run around like a chicken with my head cut off BUT, I'd certainly be in "kick-ass" mode for sure. Not sit there like a deer caught in headlights.......just the visual our country needed at that time.

Its very strange the presidents reaction isnt it.
Unless you were aware, or advised 'if' something happenes on what to do, then he didnt re-act like a human being.

Obviously, if you were the leader of a country, and you were under attack, you'd be up and at them immediately.

Bush had already been advised to do nothing, in my opinion.

I think bush was prepared

'' if something happens, let me take care of it in the immediate stages ''


But the middle eastern men pulling up in the van, to the presidents residence in florida, and asking for a specific secret service agent by name is very odd.

1. How did he have info on the secret service agents NAME, if no meeting was ever created?
2. How did they know the LOCATION of the president, before his schedualed press briefing
3. How many TV crews consist of ONLY middle eastern Men
4. Why did the president continue his daily plans, AFTER everything that happened?

thinking about it bush couldnt cancel his already planned meeting at the school,
becuase that would of showed an awareness that attacks were in the works.

If that had of been put 'out' there, it would of been obvious they were AWARE of a large scale attack planned on US citizens, and thus not doing anything to prevent or prepare would of shown deliberate ignorance.

Better too look incompitent and that responsible.

Those are good questions in your previous post, but I don't understand how you could think that the plan involved an assassination attempt and that Bush had prior knowledge. I doubt he would be party to a plan that included his own assassination. The two theories would be mutually exclusive IMO.

Im saying that bush couldnt appear to be aware of impending threats.
Because after the attack happened,
coupled with the intel and reports PRIOR, it would of been investigated WHY nothing was done to stop it, or to warn the masses prior, when the threat was credible enough for the president to cancel the remainder of his day, after something 'strange' occured.

This is acutually old. I heard about it probs a couple years ago. They were acting suspicious and cheer on their vans when the twin towers callaspe, some lady notice it and reported them to the athorities.
