This is the biggest sporting event in the world in a non-World Cup, Olympics year and damn big even in those. They invite the world to see the spectical, not just the game and they give us LAME halftime shows. The Kidney Stones last year, McCartney was good, gotta give them that one. The only other one that made sense was U2, even though I'm not a fan of the band. Here's the list:

www.superbowl.com...

OK, I'm throwing the biggest party of the year, I've got the money for Dave Cappelle to entertain my guests but for some unfathonable reason I hire Rip Taylor.

WTF is up with that?

Oh damn, I was planning to streak through this thread!

Anyway as far as the Superbowl goes, I think the best thing is the commercials.

That and that's when I serve my honey/garlic wings.

BTW, forgot to mention what led to this thread. Prince, the Artist formerly known as Relevent, is this years guest. :shk:

I just thank God for other channels running halftime specials.

SB halftime shows are always lame, except I also have to say that McCartney was pretty good.

How 'bout a halftime show with Rush or Motley Crue? Yeah baby!!!

Peace

Since we're in the holiday season, why not have Dee Snyder and crew perform a bit of their latest Twisted Christmas album?

Come All Ye Faithful video

^^^ that'd make for one helluva halftime show!

Now thats funny.

With any luck the game won't be a stinker and will carry some sort of drama into the fourth quarter. The commercials are always a laugh, but come half time, I normally check out what else is playing on the tube. I did enjoy the McCartney's show, and U2 wasn't shabby either. But the Jackson/Timberlake debacle thrown into the mix with the Rolling Stones last year, why can't we just forget!

I've actually seen the Stones live just recently, and they put on one helluva show. I was overly impressed. But they stunk it hardcore at the halftime show last year.

Taking into consideration that Prince is performing this year, I think I'll change the channel around the two minute warning.

Dude, that one elicited a HUGE, uproarious response from me.

Thanks for giving me the laughter that my day has needed. The hangover is cured...

I think I may have a way to solve the Super Bowl Halftime 'Show.' That is to book AC/DC and Motorhead as the bands performing along with, oh let's say Motley Crue or Def Leppard.
