"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)

What did God mean by "in the earth"? Is he telling us that some place exists inside the earth? Hell? And that all occupants of hell must exalt him?

What does it mean?

Strange stuff but my bible has something else written there Schlachter version 2000 (a german version though)

It says "Ich werde erhaben sein auf der Erde" which translated means on the earth.

But here it definatly says what you said .

Go to biblegateway and read it in 20 differen't translations. That may shed some light on the topc.

You could also see if there are other places where that text was used as a reference.

The Hebrew word that is translated as earth means the whole earth. So the phrase “in the earth” does not necessarily inside the earth but “in the whole earth’ or ‘in all the earth.”

1. land, earth
a. earth
1. whole earth (as opposed to a part)
2. earth (as opposed to heaven)
3. earth (inhabitants)
b. land
1. country, territory
2. district, region
3. tribal territory
4. piece of ground
5. land of Canaan, Israel
6. inhabitants of land
7. Sheol, land without return, (under) world
8. city (-state)
c. ground, surface of the earth
1. ground
2. soil
d. (in phrases)
1. people of the land
2. space or distance of country (in measurements of distance)
3. level or plain country
4. land of the living
5. end(s) of the earth
e. (almost wholly late in usage)
1. lands, countries 1e
f. often in contrast to Canaan" target="_blank" class="postlink" rel="nofollow">Source

Or, I could be wrong and it does mean inside of the earth (see b7). Either way, it makes sense to me.

it could mean absolutely nothing

see, sometimes people look for things in places there is nothing
every book, even the bible just has some parts that are there for no reason

now, go on and look somewhere else for truth
like your own life
or a new writer

Well, the bible is pretty clear that there are those on the earth,as there are those under the earth. It also is quite explicit in stating that every knee shall bend to the Lord.
