Top movies of 2006, heres my personal favourite & not so favourites;

Superman- I had never previously been into any of the Superman genre but after seeing the movie in the cinema I was surprised at how good it was, five stars*****

Snakes on a Plane- The best part of this movie was the beginning & end unfortunately, what was in between consisted mostly of CGI which at best is half decent and when used so much becomes extremely boring,even for someone like myself who is into snakes, some funny bits gets this movie, 2 stars **

Casino Royale- Top notch, great new look for bond much more interesting, less explosions = better story, funnier (torture scene), and an overall more kick ass-look. Daniel Craig looks set to have a bright future as the slick MI5 agent. best 007 movie in a while. 5 stars*****

Miami Vice- what happened ? so much potential yet poor directing left you restless, I had high hopes for this, I like both Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell and was expecting a "Bad Boys" approach to the movie but it was just so serious from start to finish I think I laughed once, disappointment in my book, maybe I was fishing in a puddle (searching for something that wasnt their), but despite the movie being a dissappointment it was still better or at least equal to SOAP, 3 stars ***

M:I 3- Ooh the horror, my brother summed it up in one word "cheesy", I couldnt agree more despite a half decent plot and acting, the bad guy was pretty creepy, the Tom Cruise self destruct factor had already inbedded itself. 3 stars*** (I am being very kind)

Underworld Evolution- Now this movie you were expecting plenty of CGI, but it still delivered and was quite entertaning, no complaints about the acting & a good nothing special story gets IMO, 3 stars***

X-Men,The last Stand- again use of plenty of graphics was neccessary but done tastefully, despite this overall it was a poor ending to the series (well Xaviers gone) IMO this movie should never have been made or at least a completely different plot/ storyline should have been used, 2 stars **(poorpoorpoor).

Borat- Quite simply comedy at its best, great movie , had me in tears of laughter, could possibly have been a little more like the original tv show and not so scripted (which took the edge from it IMO)but it was still quality. 5 stars*****

So what did you think of movies in 2006?

I didn't see it (luckly) but from what I've read Lady in the Water is supposed to be the worst movie of 2006.

Best movie - by far: Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo Del Toro. Astonishing and very moving. Fantastical, poetic, and the worst monsters were in human form. Utterly captivating.

Bond was kick-ass, but X3? More like Z3! as in "zzz zzz zzz..." It's always a bad sign when whoever you've gone to see the movie with starts texting rather than watching.

Pan's Labyrinth. I'm serious. Check it out.

IMHO, one of the worst movies EVER is The Grudge. It was so silly and retarded I didnt even bother to watch the second one (which came out in 06).

Also, the new American Pie stuff. The first one was ok, but now theyre just being rediculous with it.

As far as good movies, I would have to agree that I was pleasantly surprised at how good the superman movie was. I wasnt expecting much, but it turned out to be pretty awesome.

I really liked X-MEN 3 even if the fundemtalists say no way. But then again it was the only film I saw suppose at the cinema. Saw Superman on DVD not bad really.
