Has anyone heard of the free software called electic sheep? apparently it is a program that when ur computer goes into screensaver mode, seti can use ur computer to help process the data they receive from space. does anyone know if this is true or is it a joke. if it is real that would be great If someone could provide a link.

I think you're a bit confused, mate.

Electric Sheep is a sort of distrubed system that generates, downloads and plays fractal frames. It was inspired by the SETI project.

If you actually want to use the SETI program, the original version, 'SETI@home Classic,' stopped being used late last year (2005). The new version is called 'SETI@home Enhanced.' Info can be found here.

The new version is a program that can be run with BOINC, a distributed computing program that actually evolved out of the SETI@home Classic program.
For more info and to download, go here.
