Can you be more specific please cudailikeman? For example, *when* do you get an error - before the file downloads or afterwards? Do you receive any error messages at all? If so, could you copy the text of any messages and paste them into a reply?

It *might* be that because BOINC is nearly ready to go "global" (one assumes), SETI@home client has been discontinued - but I haven't read anything about this on the web site. Certainly, the client continues to crunch units and download new ones

Give it bit more detail and I'm sure someone will have the answer! Good luck - we need those WU's!!

Maybe a problem with the service/your ISP..

Or you do have a pirated Windows XP?

Very strange - and very frustrating

How do you connect to the Internet - DUN, cable modem, ADSL? Have you a firewall in place? Do you have any difficulties downloading other software/ freeware from other sites? How often have you tried to download SETI@home (sometimes their server is down, which you can check at "Server status" on their homepage).

it all tkaes *me* back a few years, actually, when *I* couldn't download Seti: I probably "missed" a year or so of processing time. Then, one day (23rd July 2001 actually!) I browsed the site and was able to download. Nothing, as far as I was aware, was "diferent" in my set up.... Perhaps *they* didn't want me number-crunching??

Good luck - BOINC should soon be available in any case!!
