Merry Christmas Time

by Majic

Christmas Time
Is here once again
The holiday begins
When the year meets its end, with our friends

Christmas Time
We hop into the car
And travel so far
To wish upon a star, all we are

Christmas Time
Is the time we unite
When the lights light the night
And the stars shine so bright
Have a Merry Christmas Time

Christmas Time
Put on your purest smile
Dress in your finest styles
Send love across the aisle, and the miles

Christmas Time
Is the time of the year
To put aside our fears
And hold each other near, no more tears

Merry Christmas...
Christmas Time....

Oh, majic, that's so cool.
I just had the idea to do something similar and I find this from you. I should have known...

(I still may do something if I find the time)

Merry Christmas!

Hmmm ...

Sounds like someone opened their gift-to-self a bit early, this year.

Well done! [
] and the timing is ... well ... just so majical.

A different sound for you, and I like it.

Wow, Thanks!

It's my first song in a long time, so I feel kind of weird about it. But I do think it turned out well, despite some technical issues I had to fight along the way that almost had me miss the Christmas deadline (I started recording the vocals about 11PM Saturday night).

As 12m8keall2c hinted above, I got some special "Christmas presents" in the form of a lot of software synthesizer plug-ins, some of which -- like the Native Instruments B4 II tonewheel organ (an awesome instrument!) -- made their debut in this song.

Of course, new software means new bugs, and a rather nasty bug in the Battery 3 VST plug-in (or SONAR 5.2's handling of it) made it so my project files wouldn't open.

Needless to say, that slowed things down somewhat. I started the project late Thursday and didn't fix the bug until Saturday afternoon. But I finally managed to isolate the bug by disabling VST plug-ins one by one until the project loaded.

Thankfully, the DXi version of Battery 3 seems to work fine, and provided the drum and jingle bell parts for this song.

The coolest part (from my standpoint anyway) is that I think my long musical dry spell is broken, and I'm going to prioritize finishing my second album ASAP.

Rather than wait, I'll probably release the individual songs as they become available, then polish them up for the "gold master" of the album.

So get ready to Roxxor, because at long last, it's coming.
