Nizar Trabelsi, who's jailed in Belgium, have admit that we was planning a terrorist attack against a US base in Belgium. This attack was set up for the 2002 springs.

The base is located in the Limburg province, in Kleine Brogel town.

His plan was to blow up the base. Belgian intel service found a chemical products list, with the same products used in Nairobi (Kenya) & Dar-el-Salaam (Tanzanie) anti-US actions.

Trabelsi, arrested the 09/13/2001 is linked to Tarek Maaroufi, also in jail. Maaroufi helped others terrorists ( 2 tunisians who was living in Belgium ), those who killed former afghan Cdt Massoud.

Trabelsi told that he knew & met OBL, who gave him " goods advices ".

Trabelsi : " I love him ( OBL ) like a father and I don't care about what he did the 911. He had right !

Quiete One, can you not understand that different situations allow for different options?

Even in WWII, acts of sabotage and espionage were handled in such a manner by both the Axis and the Allies. Both sides still used regular military might to do battle as well.

You do understand that what has happened is that an enemy has declared war on us, don't you? This isn't criminal acts but acts of war, right?

the situation is not that simple, TC. as so often is the case.

"the enemy has declared war on us". no they haven't. they can't. the declaration of war is a political event that only a nation state can do. example: i make it my mission in life to kill my next door neighbour. its not war. its murder. (or attempted murder, at the least) terrorists cannot declare war because they are not a nation state.

be careful how you respond to this TC. the geneva convention only allows the US to do what they are doing in camp x-ray because these people are not part of a recognised army, nor a nation's armed force. so, if they have declared war, and as such are being recognised as some sort of nation (which they can't) then the US is breaking the geneva convention. if they are "non-lawful combatants" then its not war and is indeed "criminal action".

He said " he had the right." To us that seems like a crock of bull, but to them is it really?? I personally think OSL is part of the US plan, but let me say something about the others who suicide in the name of religion. IHave you guys ever herd that song by Metallica "unforgiven" Well this is something like that. Where society does wrong to a child growing up and continues doing wrong to him through adulthood. I mean many of those adults now claim that US has killed their mother father..family..OR done something very wrong to them. They are not crazy just to suicide for no reason? And than there is the question of society where pro war dirty politicians teach these men what they are doing is good. These men arnt well educated nor were they taught to think for themselves..so they believe these sniviling snakes that work for a "bigger" agenda.

That is how it is in third world countries!

Do you know that some Marines , in x-ray camp, don't have the same comfort like these prisoners ? I don't see where the USA are breaking the Geneva convention.

And what's the better ? To be an Islamist held by the USA, or to be a US soldier held by the Islamists ?

how about being held without charge, indefinitely, and without assurance of a fair trial.

i am completely against the way certain foreign groups treat their prisoners, both soldiers and local criminals. never said i wasn't. however, we have a real chance of changing ~our~ policies.

maybe this is your less-than-perfect english, or maybe it is your real opinion, so let me reply.

what did we do wrong? take a look at the rulings from the WTO, IMF and World Bank. take a look at how the CIA funded, armed and trained terrorists such as bin laden. take a look at how the US arms and funds the israelis, which then goes straight into killing palestinians. these are all things we've done - and continue to do - wrong.

why so many of us are against our democracy? we're not against our democracy, in fact we excercise our democratic right to discuss and influence the policies and actions of our leaders. i also think it perfectly reasonable for myself - as a british citizen - to argue with, discuss and try to influence, say, american democracy because we are supposed to be a worldly-wise global community of "civilised" people.
