Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Thimothee Atouba has been given more time by The Football Association to answer a charge of violent conduct. The Cameroon international was charged by The FA on Monday after allegedly making contact with Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton during Spurs' 2-1 win at White Hart Lane over the weekend. Barton needed stitches above his right eye after the former Basel player appeared to strike out at the City player.

Tottenham defender Timothee Atouba has been suspended for three matches after being found guilty of violent conduct. Atouba elbowed Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton during Spurs' 2-1 victory on March 19.
