Tottenham: Spurs - No to Intertoto!

Sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed that Tottenham will not enter the Intertoto Cup in the summer even if they fail to earn a place in next season's UEFA Cup.

Spurs are currently ninth in the Premiership table but are only four points adrift of fifth-placed Liverpool and Arnesen insists it will not be a disaster if the club doesn't qualify for Europe. Three Premiership clubs have reportedly expressed an interest in entering the Intertoto Cup but Spurs are not one of them.

by the sound of it, they could qualify for the UEFA cup. i think with the Inter ToTo stating so early, he donest want fatigue to kick in as they wont get much of a summer if they wanted it

Dunno, for a team like Spurs the intertoto would look like a easy route into Europe. If they don't make it through the league on qualifying for Europe they will be kicking themselfs. There's nothing wrong with the intertoto. West Ham won it a few years ago beating Metz in the final and made it to the UEFA cup draw.

Spurs won't get in the Champions League, so its only the UEFA which can be got through the Intertoto. No disgrace in going through that way and its a bit stupid if they never went for it and failed to do it in the league.
