Tottenham are believed to be lining up a move for Swiss youngster Valon Behrami.

The 19-year-old is establishing a reputation as one of the best youngsters in Europe.

Behrami is currently playing on loan at Verona after joining Genoa in the summer of 2003.

The Swiss youth international had attracted the interest of Liverpool before opting to join Genoa.

Behrami has impressed this season at Verona and it is expected that Genoa could recall him from his loan spell in the New Year.

Reports emanating from Italy suggest Spurs could make a move for Behrami when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is keen to strengthen the squad after taking over from Jacques Santini and midfield is a position he is looking to bolster.

The North London outfit are thought to be ready to offer €4 million for Behrami which could tempt Genoa into doing a deal.

Spurs already have Swiss youngster Reto Ziegler at the club and he could be joined by Behrami.

looks like they are looking out for young promising talent. dont know they player and am not sure how he would figure in what is in my opinion a large squad. maybe there lots of duds there but there alot of players. 4 million on a youngster is still alot of money so it more likely if he does get bought, he has to feature.

and at least if he does join, he will have a pal there
