Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan is scouring Europe for new players.
Keegan was an interested observer in Holland last week taking in AZ Alkmaar's Uefa Cup clash with Auxerre.
The City chief is actively looking to strengthen his side, having seen a number of key players sidelined by injury.
Keegan is expected to make a foray into the transfer market when it reopens in January and he is looking for bargain deals with not a lot of money
available at City.
One player who Keegan could have been looking at is Auxerre defender Younes Kaboul.
A number of Premiership scouts are believed to have been at the game to check on the highly-rated 18-year-old.
Kaboul has broken into the Auxerre side this season and he is highly regarded by the French club.
