Trevor Sinclair has handed Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan a timely boost by returning to training after shaking off a knee injury.
The former England midfielder has started just twice this season after a string of injuries affected his pre-season, but first-team coach Derek
Fazackerley is optimistic his problems are behind him.
"Trevor has been back out with the squad for the last couple of days and hopefully he is not far off now," Fazackerley told the club's official
City's midfield had already been decimated by injuries to Claudio Reyna and Joey Barton before Sun Jihai suffered a serious knee injury which is
likely to rule him out for the remainder of the campaign in the 1-0 victory against Chelsea.
The absences mean Sinclair could be straight back in the squad for Sunday's trip to Newcastle United, despite not having played for six weeks.
