Harry Kewell and Josemi have handed Liverpool a double injury boost. The pair are set to return in the reserves on Monday against Newcastle after a lengthy spell out of action. Both players have been missing since December through injury with Kewell struggling with a groin problem and Josemi a knee injury. The news will be a boost for Reds boss Rafa Benitez as he prepares for next week's UEFA Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell stepped up his comeback from injury by playing 60 minutes in the reserves' 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Monday night.

Australian international Kewell has been out for two months with a groin injury but is hoping to prove his fitness in time for next week's Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

Kewell was deployed as a central striker with another player pushing for a first-team return, Vladimir Smicer, operating on the left.
