Teenage midfielder David Mannix is aiming to break into the Liverpool team next season after signing a new contract at Anfield.
Mannix has been rewarded with a deal to stay with The Reds until 2007 after battling back from a string of injuries. The 19-year-old has undergone
five bouts of surgery on his knee in the past three years and has also struggled with an Achilles injury.
He has yet to make the breakthrough at Anfield but is well regarded by Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez. With his future now secured, Mannix is
targeting a place in the first team squad, particularly as several of his youth team contemporaries have made the step up this season.
