Liverpool are believed to have agreed a deal to sign Barcelona winger Luis Garcia, according to reports emanating from Spain.

Spanish radio claims Barcelona have agreed to the sale of the Spanish international after signing Samuel Eto'o from Real Mallorca.

Liverpool were initially thought to be keen on taking Garcia on loan for the whole of next season, but reports claim they have agreed a 9 million euros (6 million) deal for the wide man.

Garcia's first team chances seem limited for the new season as Barca have been busy in the transfer market bringing in the likes of Deco and Ludovic Giuly at Camp Nou.

The 26-year-old did not train with Barcelona on Thursday and it is believed that the move could be announced as soon as Friday.

Long live the Spanish Revolution!!!

I'm sure he'll be a class signing and everyone is really excited about Alonso.

hes getting owens number 10 shirt

Liverpool new boy Luis Garcia has stated he had no qualms filling Michael Owen's shirt at Anfield and even requested wearing number ten.

The former Barcelona winger knows Owen had a special place in the supporters' hearts, but the added pressure of replacing the striker will not affect him.

with yesterdays 3 nil win garcia was supposed to be in great form

Luis Garcia was in brilliant form as Liverpool eased to a 3-0 win against Norwich at Anfield.

The Spaniard lit up a game that was controlled throughout by Liverpool, causing huge problems down the right as well as scoring a second after Milan Baros had smashed home an opener on 23 minutes.
