Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher looks set to join Fulham later this month.

The Welsh international is seeking a move away from City due to family problems.

Thatcher has asked for a move and City boss Kevin Keegan has agreed to his request.

Fulham have agreed a fee for the Welsh international as they look to bring the former Millwall star to Craven Cottage.

The move is being held up as Keegan has asked the player to stay at the club until he can find a replacement for the full back.

looks like its gonna happen

Fulham manager Chris Coleman expects to tie up the signing of Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher this week.

The Wales international is heading for Craven Cottage after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.

"We bought Carlos Bocanegra as a centre back and he's done a good job at left back," explained Coleman.

its a done deal

Fulham have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher in a three-and-a-half year deal.

The tough tackling Welshman has moved to Fulham after failing to settle in Manchester since his summer switch from Tottenham.

After being burgled twice since his arrival in Manchester, Thatcher's wife returned to the South - thus making it difficult for the player to remain at the club.

I don't think he is that good to be honest, but he may get a change of fortune now that he is at a new club.

Ben Thatcher's proposed move to Fulham from Manchester City has broken down. The full back was expected to seal his move to Craven Cottage later this week, but now the deal has fallen through. Fulham's official website claims the deal fell through because negotiations between both clubs could not be completed. Both clubs had agreed a fee for the Welsh international last week after Thatcher asked to leave City. The defender was seeking a move away from City due to family problems and City boss Kevin Keegan had accepted his request.

it sounds like it was going to happen, and then something happened which made it not happen.

wonder if its about the city wanting a replacement, maybe the deal wasnt enough to fund this transfer for juanfran lets say
