Anderlecht have revealed that Chelsea are currently the only club to have contacted them to express an interest in Vincent Kompany.
The elegant 18-year-old defender has come to the attention of Europe's top clubs with his impressive displays over the past couple of seasons. Despite his tender years, he was voted Belgian Player of the Year in 2004 and is already a regular in the Belgium national team.
A whole host of clubs are understood to be following his progress with Arsenal, Manchester United, Milan, Internazionale, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona among his reported admirers. However, Anderlecht president Roger Vanden Stock has now confirmed that Premiership leaders Chelsea have made the only official enquiry about the teenager, although he was quick to add they have not lodged a bid.
