Let's face the simple facts here. Europe simply can't compete with US technology and industry.

Ok, nothing to worry then, not?

The more countries that sign on to the JSF program the lower the per unit costs become.
Believe me Australia wouldn't be part of the program if they weren't getting value for money.
As for the JSF being almost as expensive as the F-22, that is entirely wrong.

No one stated that: I stated only that JSF would be far more expensive than Grippens or Makos. Whatever the cost will be lowered, those of the X-35
will never be lower than those of the Mako or the Grippen.

...as already stated, the JSF isn't near as expensive as the F-22
and i doubt the EF-2000 is either because they are also different classes of fighter (Eurofighter is multi-role, F-22 is air-dominance so Euro-fighter
= F-16/35)

The Eurofighter being multirole doesn't mean it's not for air superiority. The USAF only rejected using F22 for more than ADF.
I reed somewhere whilst F22 defeats Su-35 90% of the time, EF2000 does in 'only' 80%. Not bad, i think.

About EF-2000 vs Rafale, maybe i was a little harsh:

Pease, before you comment this thread, read the *whole* of it: initial specs are wrong. It's also educational to see how the fighter market works
(Korea choosing F-15 over Typhoons or Rafales or X-35s

)
