Chelsea are set to make an 8million swoop for Bulgarian wonderkid Valeri Bojinov.

According to The Sun the 18-year-old has caught the eye of Jose Mourinho and the Stamford Bridge boss has had him watched twice recently by number two Steve Clarke.

Lecce ace Bojinov is currently pushing the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Adriano in the Serie A scoring charts, and already has eight goals this term.

scoring 8 goals for lecce in itself is some achievement. i have never heard of the guy but to be doing that he must be pretty good. and he is young so there is room to imrove and 8 million is no object to them

arsenal are also keeping tabs its thought

Arsenal are thought to be the side rivalling Chelsea for Lecce's young striker Valeri Bojinov.

Lecce have confirmed that no offer has yet to come in for the talented 18-year-old, who is attracting interest from around Europe.

Chelsea were thought to be in the driving seat but The Gunners will have a scout present when Lecce face Sampdoria on Sunday.

Arsenal are trying to nip in ahead of their London rivals, and they will check out the Bulgarian in action on Sunday.

a update on this

Lecce starlet Valeri Bojinov has revealed he will only move to CSKA Moscow if it involves him signing a deal with Chelsea.

Reports in the Italian media suggest the Bulgaria international is the subject of a €12 million (8.3 million) bid from CSKA Moscow.

The 18-year-old, who is one of the most coveted players in European football, is not tempted by the prospect of heading to Russia.

well. roman owns both teams lol.

i think at chelsea he would find it harder to get a game, so this loan deal if hes bought will make sense. 12 million for lecce, i cant see that being not enough and it should happen if they really want him
