Chelsea: Chelsea keeper leaves on loan

Chelsea have allowed Italian goalkeeper Marco Ambrosio to join Swiss side Grasshoppers on loan.

Ambrosio was unlikely to see any first team action at Stamford Bridge this season and so he has decided to take the move.

Grasshoppers needed goalkeeping cover after their number one Peter Jehle was ruled out of action for six weeks.

Ambrosio moved to Chelsea last summer, but Petr Cech's arrival means that the 31-year-old would not have made the bench for The Blues.

The deal is a loan and will last until the end of December.
