Its good to see a Prem club keeping hold of their youngsters and signing them to new deals for a change.

Nathan Ashton has become Charlton Athletic's fourth youngster to put pen to paper on a professional contract. The 18-year-old England Under-18 international defender has followed James Walker, Darren Randolph and Robert Elliot's example by staying on with The Valley outfit. Ashton has penned a one-and-a-half year deal that ties him to the club until the summer of 2006 and is delighted at committing himself to the club.

Not in the slightest, I don't know him that well myself.

He will become a very good player given games and time.
