Shaun Bartlett knows his Charlton future is up in the air - but he's not overly concerned.

The South African striker is in the final year of his contract and new talks have yet to be started.

Bartlett 31, said: "The contract situation at Charlton is not playing on my mind at all to be honest.

"If I got a new deal I'd be happy to stay here because it's a good club and I've enjoyed my time here. But it's up to the club, isn't it?

"They waited until the last-minute last season before they offered me a one-year deal and they'll probably do the same again. But if it doesn't happen I'll move on."

And Bartlett revealed he'd consider dropping a level to pursue his English career.

"I've played all over the world," said Bartlett. "But I'd like to stay in England for another two years at least. I feel I can still perform in the Premiership but I would consider dropping a division here.

"I am settled in this country and it has always been my dream to play here."

All depends on what they are paying him, Bartlett isn't the greatest player in the world but does a good job.
