Blackburn Rovers: Hughes drops Gabbidon hint

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has hinted that Cardiff City centre-back Danny Gabbidon could be a January transfer target.

Gabbidon was a regular during the final year of Hughes' spell in charge of the Wales national team and is a player he believes is capable of succeeding in top-flight football.

"I have obviously worked with a number of players in the Welsh squad that I know a great deal about," said the former Barcelona striker.

"I'm always interested in good players, and Danny is a good player but whether or not there is a possibility of him coming is down to his own football club.

"We certainly haven't made an approach to them."
