Blackburn Rovers: Rovers table bid for striker

Blackburn boss Graeme Souness has made a bid to sign Excelsior striker Mounir el Hamdaoui after he impressed on trial.

Souness is keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new season starting this weekend and could offer el Hamdaoui the chance to ply his trade in The Premiership.

The 20-year-old has caught the eye of Souness after training with the Rovers squad and the Ewood Park chief is ready to take a gamble on the player.

Excelsior are unlikely to stand in his way if they receive a suitable offer from Rovers.

Blackburn have made Excelsior an offer for striker Mounir El Hamdaoui - but not enough to persuade the Dutch outfit to sell the 20-year old.

El Hamdaoui was on trial at the former Premiership champions two weeks ago and manager Graeme Souness is keen to secure the player's services.

However, the player's value is proving a major stumbling block, with Excelsior holding out for a larger fee than what Rovers have offered.
