Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering firming up his interest in Silvio Proto. The 21-year-old custodian has impressed this term between the posts for Charleroi and has attracted admiring glances across Europe. Arsenal had scouts in attendance at Saturday's game between Charleroi and La Louviere, with Wenger awaiting their reports.

La Louviere have confirmed that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in their Belgium international goalkeeper Silvio Proto.

The Belgian outfit revealed that the Premiership titans have sent scouts to check first-hand on Proto in recent weeks.

Arsenal have in fact now watched the 21-year-old twice having dispatched a representative to watch La Louviere's game at Mouscron last week, a 1-1 draw in which the custodian was voted man of the match.

The agent of Belgium international Silvio Proto has confirmed that both Manchester United and Arsenal are vying for his client's services.

Both clubs have watched the La Louviere goalkeeper in the past month and are thought to have been impressed with his capabilities.

La Louviere have already confirmed to skysports.com that they will not stand in the player's way, should they receive a suitable offer.
