Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has admitted he would like to see Alan Shearer succeed Graeme Souness as manager of the Magpies. Former England skipper Shearer has put off retirement to play for one more season at St James' Park. He will also take up a coaching role at the club as he is groomed to one day take over from Souness.
