Newcastle United kept their cool in a chaotic atmosphere to comprehensively dispatch Olympiakos 3-1 in the ancient city of Athens. The sixth consecutive victory for Graeme Souness's side should secure their passage to the Uefa Cup quarter finals, as they prospered amidst the backdrop of a frenzied first half. Referee Arturo Ibanez was at the centre of the action, as he saw fit to award two penalties and dish out two red cards to Olympiakos players.

sounds like the ref had some fun. with what had happened, it was always going to make olympiakos job soo much harder

a good cup run though, will make newcaslts poor perfomances in the league not look as bad possibly

Good win for them but it would be when your playing a side with 9 men...

Still not that over impressed with Newcastle this season although they have been playing better in recent weeks...
