Hugo Viana has begged Newcastle to reverse their decision not to allow him to play against them for loan club Sporting Lisbon in the Uefa Cup.
The terms of midfielder Viana's temporary move back to Portugal dictate that he is barred from lining up against the Magpies.
Newcastle bosses knew Sporting could be paired with them in the Uefa Cup and were wary of repeating the scenario which saw Lomana LuaLua score against
them while on loan at Portsmouth last season.
But now that the Magpies and Sporting have been drawn together in Europe, Viana is desperate for United to change their minds and said: "It's an
amazing draw and I don't want to miss out. I know what the clubs agreed in August, but that was under Sir Bobby Robson and I know he didn't want me to
"There is now a different coach at the club and perhaps Graeme Souness will allow me to play.
"I will be appealing to him and to the club to allow me to play against Newcastle."
Waste of space, didn't develop from a young prospect into a player. He spends too much time in the papers and disappears during games. Rubibish.
