Shaka Hislop has admitted he is likely to leave Portsmouth. The former Newcastle and West Ham custodian is out of contract at the end of the season and as yet no new deal has been offered. Hislop's future has been thrown into further doubt by the recent arrival of Greek goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias. The 35-year-old has invited former Pompey boss Harry Redknapp to make a move to bring him to fierce rivals Southampton.

its sure looks like he will be leaving after this

Portsmouth supremo Milan Mandaric insists Shaka Hislop's career at Fratton Park is all but over after the goalkeeper claimed he wanted a move to Southampton.

Hislop has lost his first team berth to recent signing Konstantinos Chalkias.

The former Newcastle United and West Ham United custodian is reported to be unhappy at being ousted by the Greek, but Mandaric claims he was left with little choice following the player's outburst regarding a move to South Coast rivals Southampton.

He did a great job at Pompey and he will do well wherever he goes. He has always been a great shot stopper, maybe not as good on the low shots. But a good allrounder..

Cant say i like the new keeper but will have to give him time to settle in.If De Zuew and the other defenders can keep stikers at bay most the time then we might have a great keeper

Shaka Hislop claims he is unlikely to play for Portsmouth again, but insists his commitment to the club has never wavered.

The veteran keeper had been linked with a move to Southampton on the cusp of the recent meeting between the two clubs and Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric quickly came out and said Hislop had no future at Fratton Park as a consequence.

Hislop has denied ever openly saying he wanted to move to Saints, but feels his future almost certainly lies away from Portsmouth.
