Portsmouth midfielder Gary O'Neil has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Fratton Park. The England Under-21 captain was tied to Pompey
until 2007 but he has now been rewarded with a deal until 2009. After spending a spell on loan with Cardiff City earlier in the season, O'Neil has
forced his way back into the Portsmouth team. He has featured heavily since Velimir Zajec replaced Harry Redknapp as manager and the 21-year-old had
no qualms in extending his stay on the South Coast.
