Portsmouth's worst fears over Vincent Pericard have come true after it was confirmed the striker has suffered a new ligament injury.
The Frenchman was on course for a successful comeback from injury when he netted in the club's reserves on Tuesday night.
However, just fifteen minutes after finding the back of the net the striker was cruelly struck down by injury in the reserve clash against
Pompey feared for the worst with Pericard leaving the field with a knee injury and now scans on Wednesday have confirmed the damage.
The former Juventus ace was plagued by injury last term, seeing limited playing time, and now he may well be done for the remainder of this season.
