Middlesbrough have taken Australian starlet Ben Vidaic on trial.
The 16-year-old is seen as one of the hottest prospects in Australia and he has turned down an international call-up to try his luck in England.
Vidaic - who also qualifies to play for Croatia - was called-up to the Joeys (Australia's Under-17) squad for their tour of America, but he decided
his time would be better served elsewhere.
On his arrival in England, Vidaic trained with Barnsley and after spending a few week there he moved on to Boro.
Vidaic, a bustling striker, has already been with Steve McClaren's side for a few weeks and will return to Australia later this month.
The youngster has been playing for Blacktown City Demons in his homeland and should a move to England fail to materialise, he will head home to join
one of the clubs in the newly formed Australian A-League.
