Inter Milan's Christian Vieri was given a two-match ban by the Italian football league's disciplinary council for hitting Reggina's Ivan Franceschini
in the face on the final day of the Serie A season.
The 31-year-old initially escaped punishment for the offence but was found guilty after trial by television which showed the veteran striker lashing
out with a closed fist. The Italy international will miss Inter's first two league matches next season.
