European: Rochemback wants Sporting stay

Fabio Rochemback has told Barcelona that he wants to stay on loan in Portugal at Sporting instead of returning to Camp Nou this summer when his current loan deal expires.

The Brazilian international moved to the Catalan club in 2001 and enjoyed two seasons at Barca before the arrival of Frank Rijkaard, who decided he was not part of his plans.

Joan Laporta's administration loaned out several players who did not have European residency in the summer of 2004, with Rochemback being sent on a two-year loan to Sporting.

i have seen him play most of the games for sporting lisbon in Europe and i thought he was good, he in the centre of midfield, reminded me of Dunga a bit for Brazil. He helps the defense and gets forward though, got a good pass and has alot of skill. Some shot on him too. I really like this sporting team so i hope he stays
