As if one is going to have/need at least one operational carrier at alltimes..

One needs to have 2 carriers..

Now that they build/operate these together.. they will need only one spare carrier.. (total of 3 and not 4..)

If they build and operate this carrier together, are there any known plans to make a forward propulsion system?

I noticed 2 funny remarks :

Anyway, France has already planned to build a second aircraft-carrier ( De Gaulle type ) for 2010/2012. So, with or without Great-Brittain, France will have her second carrier. It's the same story with the Concorde. France & GB have builded their owns Concorde, for a national prestige reason, and the construction cost reached the top. What ever you have to build, it's less expensive to build it in one place. But as usual, France will build her own carrier and GB her own carrier. Talk about a cost reduction.

Uhhhhhh....highly unlikely. Incredibly unlikely. Shared technology, sure. Shared development costs and manpower for production....maybe

but never, ever shared inventory.
