European: Inter target Atletico stopper

Internazionale are trailing Atletico Madrid defender Luis Perea. The Colombian has proved a big success in La Liga since a summer switch from Boca Juniors. The 25-year-old has been a virtual ever present in Atletico's backline, and has formed an impressive partnership with Pablo Ibanez - himself a target for Juventus.

Perea's agent Marceloa Betnaza has informed Los Rojiblancos that Inter have made a concrete offer for his client and is awaiting a response. Atletico do not want to lose the South American and, following his excellent displays, were planning to improve his contract anyway. The interest of Inter is only likely to speed up talks, although Betnaza insists the player is happy to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
