Marseille have signed Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo to bolster their defence.
The Nigerian Under-21 international has signed a three-year deal at Stade Velodrome.
Taiwo could be the ideal replacement for Bixente Lizarazu following his return to Bayern Munich.
Marseille are also closing in on the signing of Japanese international Koji Nakata.
The midfielder is currently training with Marseille as they try and thrash out a deal for the Kashima Antlers player.
Marseille coach Philippe Troussier knows all about Nakata having worked with him while in charge of the Japanese national team
Marseille are currently scouring the transfer market in a bid to bring in new players and they are also thought to be keen on Kaiserslautern's Bill
Tchato and Sochaux's Wilson Oruma.
